King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem with an army of twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand cavalry, and more soldiers than could be counted, including Libyan, Sukkite, and Ethiopian[a] troops. He captured the fortified cities of Judah and advanced as far as Jerusalem.
